Housewarming Party- January 20, 2007

move to a state where we can afford to own a house- check
find a house- check
buy a house- check
decorate a house- check
invite your new friends over for a little get together- check

John and I have been blessed to have made some really good friends out here in Jacksonville. It was great having everyone over to see our new digs. Now we are ready to have some west coast people come out! ya'll are welcome anytime ;o)

John's house project

John came home last month to a not so wanted surprise. It appears the kids (Maxi and Zoey) had some fun bonding time..unfortunately they bonded while tearing up our carpet. Have no fear- john consulted his new bestfriend (home depot's home improvement 1-2-3 book) and came up with a great way to "hide" the problem.

Yahhhh for drywall!

Everyday our house is looking more and more like a house! We went to check everything out on Saturday, to our surprise the workers were busy putting up drywall. We can't wait to have you all out to see the place!

Basset Hound Fair!!

Have no fear I have found a basset hound fair in Jacksonville! Well..kinda in Jacksonville, John somehow agreed to drive 2 hours one way to go to a Halloween basset hound fair. It was lots of fun, and Maxi had a blast.

Men with Swords of Meat

For John and Amanda's Birthday celebration, we celebrated with meat, lots and lots..and lots of meat. What could make this celebration even better you ask? Well let me tell you, we started off the day by not eating so that we would be able to eat our weight (or close to it) in meat. Not only was there lots of meat ( are you catching onto the theme here?) but they had a great upperclass buffet (lobster bisque soup, salmon..you get the idea). Once you have loaded up at the buffet you return to your table and turn over your "feed me meat" card to the green side. PRESTO! Gauchos with swords of meat surround you and cut meat until you tell them to stop. To finish the meal off there is a Gaucho that has grilled pineapple sprinkled with cinnamon. As Amanda, Anthony and John can tell you, this was by far my favorite part of the meal. By the end of the night we all had turned our "feed me meat" cards to the red side, we had been defeated by men with swords of meat. It was no doubt one of the best meals I have ever had..good times!
