Yahhhh for drywall!

Everyday our house is looking more and more like a house! We went to check everything out on Saturday, to our surprise the workers were busy putting up drywall. We can't wait to have you all out to see the place!

Basset Hound Fair!!

Have no fear I have found a basset hound fair in Jacksonville! Well..kinda in Jacksonville, John somehow agreed to drive 2 hours one way to go to a Halloween basset hound fair. It was lots of fun, and Maxi had a blast.

Men with Swords of Meat

For John and Amanda's Birthday celebration, we celebrated with meat, lots and lots..and lots of meat. What could make this celebration even better you ask? Well let me tell you, we started off the day by not eating so that we would be able to eat our weight (or close to it) in meat. Not only was there lots of meat ( are you catching onto the theme here?) but they had a great upperclass buffet (lobster bisque soup, salmon..you get the idea). Once you have loaded up at the buffet you return to your table and turn over your "feed me meat" card to the green side. PRESTO! Gauchos with swords of meat surround you and cut meat until you tell them to stop. To finish the meal off there is a Gaucho that has grilled pineapple sprinkled with cinnamon. As Amanda, Anthony and John can tell you, this was by far my favorite part of the meal. By the end of the night we all had turned our "feed me meat" cards to the red side, we had been defeated by men with swords of meat. It was no doubt one of the best meals I have ever had..good times!

The building of our house has begun!

John had a pre-construction meeting on Wednesday, September 19th, by that Saturday they had completed the grading for our house. We drove by today (Sept. 29th) and they layed the foundation already (new pictures to come soon). It looks like we really will be in our new home by December. yah!!

Stuffed animals + drinking = Meg comes to Jacksonville

Our dear friend Meg was in Orlando for a business trip, which lead to the perfect opportunity for her to come to Jacksonville, or as she calls it Jackson City. We have quickly learned that when an outsider comes to Jacksonville there is always that one day where a visitor goes to St. Augustine (check), Clark's Fish Camp (check), and Harmonious Monks (bar, check). It was great having her in town, a familiar face from home, it was just what we needed.

We bought a house!!

On Monday night John and I became homeowners! YAHHHHH! We will be building our house over the next 4 months and should be moving in late December/early January. To say the least John and I are excited. When all is said and done this is what our house will look like. It will be 3br 2 bath, fenced backyard that overlooks a lake. This was one of the main reasons John and I moved to Florida and we are very excited about making it our own little nest.

Game night has evolved

John and I have made friends with another transplant couple from the west coast. Amanda and Anthony fortunately for us understand the importance of a good ole' Saturday game night..only they take it up a notch to Wii game nights. Exhibit A) John and Anthony boxing each other.
